I enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to follow and captivated my attention from the beginning. “Lack of Ambition” was unpredictable and had fresh ideas unlike some other books in the same genre. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys books that leave you guessing or if you just need an escape.

A very well thought out, suspenseful story that kept me wondering what was going to happen next. Corruption, greed, perversion and a steamy love story all make this an interesting read. And it’s always a pleasure to read a book that has good grammar, punctuation and grammar so the story flows smoothly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Corporate Cowboys Come Unstuck
5 November 2012 – Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase
There’s no shortage of entertainment in “Lack of Ambition”. This story is a rollicking tongue in cheek yarn, obviously written by someone with inside knowledge of the corporate world of insurance and finance. Worker bees in those industries will recognise certain management styles, maybe even cringe with embarrassment. Overall, though, readers will have a good chuckle at the corporate cowboy characters in this story who, like their real life inspiration, truly believe they’re omnipotent and invincible. “Lack of Ambition” will keep you happily occupied on a long flight/train trip or when you’re lolling by the pool, drink in hand, after a big fat lunch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great contemporary novel – intriguing and enjoyable
5 March 2017
Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase
Reading this novel was enjoyable, it was fast paced, and provided the reader intrigue, mystery and excitement. Laced with ample relationship analysis, and with physical and emotional content that did not take you away from the main story. The author allowed you to see how the main character thought through a difficult issue of the mind, it was contemporary and gave real life locations in Sydney Australia with added plausible political issues. Well done….

4.0 out of 5 stars Sydney thriller is a lighthearted romp
3 February 2017 – Published on Amazon.com

When Peter Stankovic’s hero Nick Hunter wakes up in a strange bed, wondering if he’s been taken advantage of by some female, this female reader had to laugh. And the entertainment continues as amnesiac Nick blunders his way round Sydney in search of his identity. The writer has created an engaging character in the whimsical investigative journalist who, inbetween getting his pants off every other page, lets fly with a few karate chops (not applied to the ladies chasing him, of course). This rollicking tale is an easy, fun read. There’s more adventures in Nick Hunter for sure, so a sequal Mr Stankovic?
5.0 out of 5 stars Page Turning Thriller

Format: Kindle Edition
Nick Hunter, a journalist and a playboy debonair, wakes up to find he has no memory. He sets forth trying to piece together the last 24 hours. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss but in this case, Nick finds himself in deadly hot water. Finding out who he is, what he does for a living and what the “job” he was paid to do is vital to his health. In the meantime, he falls hard for a woman – something he suspects is totally foreign to him.
Nick quickly discovers several things about himself – he’s a player, he’s a top notch journalist, he’s gotten involved with the wrong people and he’s in love. Now it’s up to him to save those he loves from the corrupt politicians and mafia types.
Peter Stankovic adeptly creates a plot where danger is around the corner with this edge of your seat thriller mystery. Stankovic smoothly tells the story of Nick Hunter with vivid imagery and details. The character development is complete as the characters come to life. I found “Ginger” to be most amusing as well as deadly, but I knew Nick wasn’t going to let himself be bested – by anyone.
Stankovic is a masterful storyteller whose ability to captivate and engage the audience is thorough. I found the book difficult to put down after Nick began to remember his life and see the danger for what it was. I thought it was brilliant how Stankovic brought the story to a close. His characters are strong. His story is light, not overwhelming.
Well done!I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries, thrillers and romance. While this book had several instances of romance, it was tastefully done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting Page Turning Thriller!
4 August 2018 – Published on Amazon.com
I really enjoyed this face-paced read, being taken into Nick Hunter’s world after he wakes up in a strange place, suffering from amnesia. As Nick makes his way round Sydney in search of his identity I couldn’t help but think about Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne – Peter Stankovic has managed to create an authentic, engaging character in this investigative journalist, one that the reader roots for from page one. Something tells me that this story is not yet over and Nick Hunter will be back in a sequel. I sure hope so!

This is a light- hearted entertaining fun read about espionage and sexy women set amidst a backdrop of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The central character must use all his charm and energy in managing relationships with a number of mysterious beautiful women who know him however he doesn’t yet know them. One wonders if he is truly imagining everything that is happening or is it real. Along the way there are some interesting perspectives and thought provoking takes on human nature and behaviour
MAIL ORDER BRIDE
4.0 out of 5 stars Easy, breazy, fun read
July 18, 2018
Format: Kindle Edition
Likeable Markus Doppler is the hero again in Peter Stankovic’s 3rd novel about this laid back private eye. Set on Sydney’s lower north side, the author presents an idyllic backdrop to Doppler’s enviable lifestyle. It’s all sun, beach, wining & dining, blondes, sex, (even cricket) and enough violence to satisfy most crime readers. In short, Mail Order Bride is an easy, breazy, uncomplicated fun read.
5.0 out of 5 stars Pulls the reader in from page one!

Markus Doppler is a character to remember! While I haven’t yet read Peter Stankovic’s other novels, the author has a knack for creating authentic characters, realistic dialogue and prose that immediately pulled me into the story. Very strong writer – quite possibly a new favorite! I look forward to reading his other work and more of Markus Doppler!
CHEATERS
3.0 out of 5 stars Well-laid out mystery
July 23, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
In Cheaters, a serial killer is running loose in Sydney. A string of women have been turning up dead, missing one front tooth, and with no other real common denominator aside from their gender. The Sydney police call on Markus Doppler, a recently-retired detective, to come in and lead the team on the case. Markus, with a mounting body count and little by way of leads, is trying to balance catching a killer with a relationship with the first woman he’s had serious feelings for since his divorce, met via the Cheaters website – a site advertised as a way for people looking for no-strings sex to meet.
This book is a well-laid out mystery story, constructed to keep the reader guessing right through to the grand reveal and playing on the ongoing theme of websites set up for married couples to experiment beyond their marriage. I found that the sheer number of secondary characters was overwhelming in the beginning, meaning that for me the story only really found a unifying factor about a tenth of the way in, and the constant point-of-view shifts became confusing in sections. However, Peter A. Stankovic does manage to pull all these disparate threads together for the finale, and the locations and characters are solidly convincing. Certainly worth reading for mystery readers who don’t like all the answers handed to them on a plate.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
5.0 out of 5 stars A new favorite crime writer!
August 4, 2018
Format: Kindle Edition
Kimberly Chambers, the Sunday Times Best Seller, has been one of my favorite crime writers – and Peter Stankovic’s writing is reminiscent of her work. This one had me turning the pages, on the edge of my seat – couldn’t put it down and I’ll most definitely be reading again.
4.0 out of 5 stars If you like police drama
May 19, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
If you like police drama, this one is for you. The setting is Australia and the characters and surroundings are finely described. The author has certainly done his homework and the ending doesn’t follow what you might expect. Refreshing that there was no gun play. Write on, Peter!
THE LOST HOURS
The plot connected multiple themes including human frailty when exposed to an event such as a Corona Type virus female jealousy and how people will live in the Jetsons age of 2040. This is very timely given that scientists are warning that mutations of diseases present greater threats to mankind than terrorists. Nice to dream about what may be and how future generations will adapt.
