How to write crime

Apart from writing from experience, if you happen to have committed crimes or worked as a detective, you can study how to write novels about crime.
There’s even a book on the topic with the odd title ‘How To Write Crime’ with contributions from a number of crime writers including Gary Disher (Paydirt,Deathdeal),Minette Walters (The Ice House, The Dark Room)and JR Carroll (Token Soldiers, Tropic of Fear).
Or you can just leave it up to your imagination, like I do, by reading crime fiction and watching crime shows. However you will need to plot your story and make it entertaining.
The best thing about writing crime fiction is that you can develop interesting characters, whether good or bad.
